Virat Kohli, the Indian cricket superstar, has been a role model for many young cricketers looking to pursue a career as a professional, inspiring them to aim and achieve the highest of goals. And amid all that, in a heartwarming moment, the 36-year-old was spotted touching the feet of his childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi after the conclusion of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match.

In the nation’s capital, from where Virat Kohli comes from, he was a part of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), who defeated hosts Delhi Capitals on Sunday, April 27, by six wickets with nine balls to spare. The right-handed batter scored 51 runs in 47 balls with four fours in the pursuit of the 163-run target, stitching together a match-defining partnership of 119 runs with Krunal Pandya for the fifth wicket, and the latter ended up scoring an unbeaten 73 off 47 with five fours and four maximums.

Following RCB’s comprehensive win in Delhi, Virat Kohli took time to meet his childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma on the hallowed turf of Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, where the pavilion is named after them. The Indian cricketing superstar ended up touching the feet of Rajkumar Sharma with respect before hugging him, and the latter even punched him in a playful manner.

We saw a few games here and this wicket played out differently compared to those: Virat Kohli on Delhi's pitch

After the victory over DC, Virat Kohli also spoke in the post-match interview, and said, as per ESPNcricinfo, “It was a top win, especially looking at the surface. We saw a few games here and this wicket played out differently compared to those. Whenever there's a chase on, I keep checking with the dugout, whether we're on course, what is my role, what kind of innings I need to play. “

“We were under pressure, 3 for 25-26 and then me and Krunal getting a century partnership. He was outstanding today with the bat, he can make that impact and we were just waiting for him to come into this tournament with the bat as well,” he added.
