India are all set to lock horns with Australia in the third Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2022-23. The match will be played at the Holkar Stadium in Indore from 1-5 March. With India leading the four-match series 2-0, Australia will have a tough task making a comeback in the series. Meanwhile, India are leaving no stone unturned to bag another thumping win and cement their place in the World Test Championship Final.

The team’s practice sessions are underway at the stadium and it was fielding practice for the Men in Blue on Monday (27 February). While it is the fielding coach’s duty to prepare the players with the help of different drills, India’s batting stalwart Virat Kohli donned the coach’s hat for his teammates. In a video shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Kohli is seen helping his teammates practice slip catching.

“Fun times in the field ft. @imVkohli 🙂 💪#TeamIndia sharpen their catching skills ahead of the 3rd #INDvAUS Test in Indore,” BCCI captioned the video.

With the video going viral, fans started reacting to it.

Notably, as the third Test is just a couple of nights away, Team India’s preparations are in full swing. The batters sweat it out hard in the nets on Monday. The biggest talking point was Shubman Gill practising with full intent and coming to the field half an hour before others. Reports have claimed that Gill might replace Rahul for the third Test as the latter’s torrid run seems to have done a big damage.

“His exclusion from the Test squad in the first two matches had come as a surprise for many but it seems like Gill is set to replace Rahul as Rohit Sharma’s opening partner in the third Test starting Wednesday,” claimed an Indian Express report.

In the video shared by BCCI too, Gill is seen practising slip-catching while Rahul is absent in the frame.
