The IPL 2024 match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) was nothing short of an entertainer as the latter pulled off a convincing 25-run win in a run fest. Earlier in the match after being invited to bat first, the SRH batting lineup breathed firepower as they put up 287 runs on the board, courtesy a 102-run knock from Travis Head, along with a 31-ball 67 from Heinrich Klaasen and some unbeaten inning from Aiden Markram and Abdul Samad.
After putting up 287-run target on the board, it was the RCB openers Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli who took the guards in the middle. After a yet another quick start up the order from RCB openers, former skipper Virat Kohli’s innings was cut short with the introduction of Mayank Markande.
Soon after the completion of the powerplay, SRH skipper introduced Mayank Markande into the attack to bowl the seventh over. On the second delivery of the seventh over, Markande bowled a perfect googly and rattled the stumps of Virat Kohli, leaving the batter all fumed up. The 35-year-old, who missed a slog sweep, quickly reacted by smashing his bat on his pad while he walked off the field.
