Defending champions Golden State Warriors faced their second defeat in 14 home games against Indiana Pacers on Monday night in the NBA 2022-23 regular season. However, Warriors guard Klay Thompson made eight three-pointers to surpass former Dallas Mavericks guard Jason Kidd on the 13th spot in the list of all-time three-point scorers in the NBA history.

Overall, the Warriors faced their 12th defeat after playing 25 games this season and currently sit on the ninth spot in the Western Conference standings as the Pacers snapped their two-game winning streak at the Chase Center by eight points.

Klay Thompson led the Dubs squad by scoring 28 points with eight shots from behind the arc in the 37 minutes of his appearance and also made four assists, however, failed to register a win for his side. In the beginning of the fourth quarter, the 32-year-old Thompson made two back-to-back threes to give a lead to his side for the first time in the second half. After scoring his eighth three-pointer, Klay become the 13th all-time three-point scorer in the history of the NBA, surpassing Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd.

The Pacers took an early lead of 17 points in the first quarter as the San Francisco-based NBA franchise failed to cover the lead. Apart from Klay Thompson, Jordan Poole made two three-pointers, four assists, five rebounds and a total of 23 points in the Warriors loss.  The Dubs scoring leader this season, Steph Curry failed to deliver as he scored just 12 points in 38 minutes and made just two of his 10 three-point shot attempts.

For the Pacers, guard Andrew Nembhard scored 31 points and made 13 assists to help his team end their three-game losing streak and register their 13th victory of the season. Indian Pacers stand a chance to claim the fourth spot in the Eastern Conference as they are tied with Atlanta Hawks of the fourth place with 13 victories and 11 losses.
