Pakistan cricketing legend Wasim Akram was extremely angry and fuming before the Asia Cup match between India and Pakistan in Dubai on Sunday. Former Pakistan captain Akram, who is working as a presenter for the Asia Cup, was bewildered when the playing XI was announced by the broadcasters after the toss but it didn’t include fast bowler Shahnawaz Dahani.

Akram addressed that he had a word with Pakistan batting coach Mohammad Yousuf and where he was told that Dahani was going to play. The issue was cleared up and he was given the correct XI but the former pacer was extremely livid and criticised the error in "a big game".

When the presenter tried to apologize to Wasim Akram for the major blunder, Akram said, “Don’t keep me happy, keep that guy happy who has put the wrong team on television. It’s a big game and that is not a little mistake. However, now the changes are made, it’s gone. Dahani is playing, that’s a good thing,” Akram added.

Talking about the game, India registered an incredible victory in another high-intensity fixture as they chased down the 148-run total with a flurry by Hardik Pandya, who scored a match-winning 33 in 17 balls. This batting display followed a dominant bowling display as the Men in Blue bundled out Pakistan for 147 with great bowling performances by Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Hardik Pandya.

Reacting to this win, Rohit Sharma expressed elation as he said, “Halfway through the chase, we still knew that we can win irrespective of the situation. We had the belief and when you have that belief, these things can happen. It's about giving clarity to the guys so that they know their roles well. It was a bit challenging but I'll take wins like this any day over usual victories.”
