Karachi Kings’ President, Wasim Akram looked furious after his team lost a nail-biting contest against Multan Sultans at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Wednesday. The PSL 2023 game between the Kings and Sultans was an instant classic as the Mohammad Rizwan-led side registered a hard-fought 3-run win.
The Kings were one hit away from victory thanks to Imad Wasim’s valiant effort but went on to suffer their fourth loss in 5 games. Reacting to this defeat, Akram, who was sitting in the dressing room, angrily kicked the sofa kept in front of him.

Going back to the game, Mohammad Rizwan continued his brilliant form in the 2023 season as he smashed a 64-ball 110 with 10 fours and 4 sixes. The incredible batting display propelled Multan to a total of 196 runs. The Kings retaliated well as James Vince led the charge for Karachi and scored a blistering 75 in 34 balls.
Further, Imad Wasim continued this fight and scored a fighting 46-run knock to get back into the game before falling short in the final over. Addressing the defeat, Wasim felt the game was in Karachi’s control but once faltered to finish off after a poor performance in the middle overs.
“We had it in the bag and couldn't finish it off. The intent was really nice but we slowed down in the middle overs but it is T20 cricket and you have to finish games. We have to sit and talk, if we lose one more then we are out of the competition, we are there and thereabout, it is a matter of correcting those small mistakes and getting over the line”, Akram said.
