However later it was revealed that this case was of a prank and the prankster had hidden a mobile phone in the studio. Lineker also shared a post on Twitter with a picture of the cell phone that said, “Well, we found this taped to the back of the set. As sabotage goes it was quite amusing.”
The BCC was also left amused and issued a statement apologizing for the incident. “We apologize to any views offended during the live coverage of the football this evening. We are investigating how this happened. - BCC spokeperson”, read the tweet.
It was later confirmed that a self-ascribed YouTube prankster who calls himself by the name of ‘Jarvo’ was the one behind this prank. He also posted a video showing him calling the phone to activate the sounds.
It is to be noted that Jarvo whose real name is Daniel Jarvo was banned in October from England and Wales from all sporting events after invading a cricket match.
