Dhanashree Verma, the wife of Yuzvendra Chahal, has hit out at trolls for maligning their relationship, speaking about how deeply it affected her and the entire family. Notably, an innocuous picture of the actor Dhanashree Verma with a choreographer named Pratik Utekar, which is now deleted, went viral, kick-starting a barrage of criticism towards her from the trolls.
The finalist of the Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa season 11, Dhanashree Verma had left the social media after constant bad comments and memes came her way in the aftermath of the aforementioned deleted picture. Upon returning to social media, she broke her silence on the matter in a heartfelt manner in a video posted on her official Instagram account.
At the beginning of the emotional video, Dhanashree Verma told people “it’s that simple to ask and be a human first, then to put forward certain verdicts or opinions.” The 27-year-old stated that she hasn’t been affected by trolls or memes in her life until now, because it affected her family and the near and dear ones.
Dhanashree Verma detailed the rights of social media users to say whatever they want, but it shouldn’t be at the expense of others. She said, “Since you all have the freedom on social media platforms to speak your heart and characters out, that you tend to forget or choose to ignore the sentiments of us and our families. This led to the decision of me taking a detox from social media and trust me, it was very peaceful.”
After sharing her comments on the impact of social media on people’s psyche, Dhanashree Verma pointed out the courage it took for her to return to Instagram. She requested the people “to be a little more sensitive and focus on our talent and skill because at the end of the day guys, we are all here on this medium just to entertain you guys.”
In her closing remark, Dhanashree Verma said, “Don't forget I'm also just a woman, just like your mother, your sister, your friend, your wife. And this is not done. It's not fair. So guys, please, you know, I am known as a fighter and I never give up.”
