The eighth edition of the Women’s Big Bash League is already underway in Australia. The six-team tournament kick started from October 13 and will be staged over the next month. In the tournament opener, it was Brisbane Heat who hosted Sydney Sixers at the Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay.


The six teams, namely Brisbane Heat, Sydney Sixers, Sydney Thunders, Perth Scorchers, Melbourne Stars, Melbourne Renegades, Adelaide Strikers and Hobart Hurricanes will face each other in a round-robin format, followed by three playoffs including the finale.


Talking about the previous edition, Perth Scorchers enter the tournament with the title of defending champions after they defeated Adelaide Strikers in WBBL 7 last season.
