The co-hosts of the T20 World Cup 2024, USA, are all geared up for the forthcoming tournament, set to begin on June 1. Ahead of the tournament, the USA cricket team has made it clear that they are not just pushovers. US cricketer Ali Khan, who played a key role with his three-wicket haul to help his side record a six-run win over Bangladesh in a recent game, sent a cold warning to all other participants of the World Cup 2024.
Not only this, but Khan also said that his side’s win against Bangladesh was not just a fluke and they are capable of winning big games in the T20 World Cup. Khan said, “We are hungry, and are going to try to eat whoever comes in our way. This is a time where we can make some changes and adjust. Team looks balanced, and all the guys are hungry. I am sure USA will do some upset.”
“We need to put the USA out there on the world cricket map. Sometimes when you win against a big side, they say oh it’s a fluke. But beating them twice, back-to-back, and winning the series isn’t a fluke. We have the talent, skills, and the ability if given the opportunities.”
We will give tough challenge to India and Pakistan: Corey Anderson
Apart from Khan, Corey Anderson has also given a stern warning to India and Pakistan ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024. Anderson, a former New Zealand cricketer, moved to the USA for a better cricketing opportunity and got picked in the USA’s World Cup squad. Ahead of the big tournament, Anderson said, “We are fully ready for the marquee event. We are no walkovers. We will give a tough challenge to India and Pakistan in the mega event.”
The co-hosts of the marquee cricketing tournament will begin their campaign against Canada on June 1, playing the season opener.
