The matter of if Pakistan will tour India for the ODI World Cup 2023 has got a significant development as Pakistan skipper Babar Azam has confirmed that his team is preparing for a better show in a marquee tournament and looking forward to making an impact.

Ever since BCCI secretary and ACC president Jay Shah claimed that India will not travel to Pakistan for Asia Cup 2023 due to political tension between neighbors, Ex-PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja hit back by saying that Pakistan will not take it lightly.

However, Raja is no more associated with the PCB and in a fresh development, Babar Azam has said that his team is focused on the World Cup in India and will try to put up a good show during the tournament.

“I will try to score runs alongside Md. Rizwan since we have a good combination at the top. But having said that it is not possible to score in every inning which is why it is important not to depend on only two players in the team,” Babar told GEO News. The top-order batter also showed a lot of faith in his players as he said that boys are really excited to make an impact in ICC tournament by playing incredible cricket.

“We have a lot of match-winners in the squad. Boys are working really hard and preparing themselves for the conditions and weather. I am confident that Pakistan will do well in ODI World Cup,” Babar concluded. Notably, Pakistan produced quality cricket in the year 2022 when it participated in two major tournaments and played back-to-back finals. However, Pakistan had settled with the runner-up trophy as they got beaten by Sri Lanka in Asia Cup 2022 and then in T20 World Cup against England.
