Team India lost to South Africa in their third match at the T20 World Cup 2022. This was India’s first defeat in three games. But it was not a one-sided game, With bowlers from both teams wreaking havoc with the new ball, the game became interesting. In a tense chase, South Africa emerged victorious, courtesy of David Miller. The southpaw stayed till the very end to ensure his team finished on the right side.

With India bowlers dismissing three South African batters upfront, Miller and Aiden Markram stitched a partnership and brought their team back in the hunt. While Markram took the aggressor’s role, Miller knocked a few balls before starting to find boundaries. The batter almost played a run-a-ball inning before he unleashed a couple of big shots and decided to finish the game.

But throughout his inning, Miller looked extremely calm and composed as if he had already planned the chase. He never had tension on his face, just like former India captain MS Dhoni. The batter took the game deep and eventually sealed a win for South Africa. With Miller adapting Dhoni’s technique in a chase, former India cricketer Ajay Jadeja said that India continues to suffer due to it.

Speaking at the post-match analysis, Jadeja said that the lesson MS Dhoni taught the world is coming to bite India back. While heaping praise on Miller, Jadeja made this statement.

"What David Miller has done with his game and taken it to another level is not by adding any shots or adding anything else. He's become calmer and waits for the opposition to make a mistake by taking the game deep. The lesson that MS Dhoni has taught the rest of the world, we are suffering because of that," Jadeja said in an interaction with Cricbuzz.
