Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah got married to sports presenter Sanjana Ganesan earlier in the year on March 15. Many were not aware of their relationship and even the wedding was a closely-knit affair in Goa. The right-arm speedster is currently in the United Kingdom featuring in the ongoing Test series against the home team and his wife Sanjana has also accompanied him to the tour.
In a recent interaction with fellow India cricketer Dinesh Karthik, Bumrah opened up on his relationship with Sanjana and revealed how it grew from strength to strength. In a rather surprising revelation, Bumrah said that they did not speak to each other for a long time as they thought each other arrogant. However, things changed between the two when they started interacting during the ICC 2019 World Cup in England.

"I had obviously seen her a lot of times but we had the same problem with each other. She thought I was really arrogant, I thought she was really arrogant so we never really spoke. I spoke to her for the first time during the 2019 World Cup when she was here covering the event. We became friends and started talking a lot. It’s been good, we have been married for five months now, so yeah very happy," Bumrah said on on Sky Sports.
Bumrah is in a happy space currently and credits his wife Sanjana for it. He is pleased with the way things have fallen in place in his life and believes that having his wife alongside on tours helps him switch off after the match. The 27-year-old also said that he is benefitted from the fact that Sanjana, being a presenter, understands the game well.
"She understands the sport, she understands what the player goes through, so whenever things don’t go well or go well, we have a lot of interesting conversations, that really helps me. And, obviously, playing cricket and travelling all the time, you’ve got your wife with you now, so, you really have to focus on other things as well," Bumrah said.
"You can switch off after the game. All these factors are really helpful and I’m really happy how this relationship has developed," he added.
