For the second time, the government of India has banned South Korean giant Krafton’s Battle Royale game for mobile devices in India late last month. In a recent talk, the CFO of Krafton, Bae Dong-geun has shared the latest updates on the Battlegrounds Mobile India ban by the Indian government.

The BGMI had over 100 million registered users in the country before the ban. Reportedly, the government of India blocked the title under section 69A of the local IT law over concerns that it was sharing data with China.

During the call, Bae Dong-geun said, "We fully respect and understand the Indian government’s concern and as we have been directly running the service based on stringent data security standards and monitoring. We will closely cooperate with the authorities to find ways for the users in India to keep enjoying BGMI."

"In the second quarter, we broadened the user base through our own and offline collaborations in the local market, and expanded monetized content offerings, providing a battle royale experience unique to BGMI," he added.

The founders of Outlier Games, Story Pix, Lucid Labs, Roach Interactive, Godspeed Games, Uniplay Digital, and four other companies have signed a letter that mentioned India is lacking a robust gaming eco-system and global video gaming companies can help India achieve such eco-system as per the TechCrunch.

The letter said, "While capital and infrastructure are critical to the survival and development of the industry, the leading global video gaming companies with their experience and next-generation technology are needed for establishing a robust gaming eco-system in India. Therefore, we seek a uniform and fair treatment of all entities operating in India."
