The Rohit Sharma-led side will take on Sri Lanka in their seventh match at the ODI World Cup 2023 on November 2. While the Men in Blue are coming off a win over England and will be high on confidence after being unbeaten in the tournament, the Kusal Mendis-led side will also beat the reigning champions in their last match are on a two-match winning streak.

While the Lankans have seen three players get ruled out of the tournament with injuries, the Men in Blue are struggling with Hardik Pandya’s fitness as he continues to recover at the NCA in Bengaluru. While he is sure to miss the match against Sri Lanka, South Africa and Netherlands, reports suggest that he will join the side for the playoffs.

However nothing has been made official but his positive developments post the ankle injury has given a boast. The Team India skipper Rohit Sharma in the pre-match press conference confirmed threw light on Hardik’ injury and added that the team is looking at his progress closely. “It’s an injury that we have to see everyday. We will see progress regularly”, Rohit quoted.

While their Asian rivals, Sri Lanka has seen their regular skipper Dasun Shanaka along with Matheesha Pathirana and Lahiru Kumara getting ruled out of the remainder of the tournament with Chamika Karunaratne, Angelo Mathews, and Dushmantha Chameera replacing them respectively.
