Damian Lillard opened up on how O.G. Anunoby pulled a prank on him before he was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in a blockbuster deal. Lillard said that the Toronto Raptors forward pulled a prank on him by telling him that he was traded to his side, Toronto. The 33-year-old player requested a trade from the Portland Trail Blazers at the beginning of July this year.

As per the player, Before the final trade, he received a shocking message from the Toronto Raptors wing. Though the message was short, it was enough for the player to be shocked. The text he received from Anunboy read, “Welcome to Toronto”, without any further context.
Lillard was in conversation with Chris Haynes, where he opened up on the same. The California-born was on a call during the text and on seeing it, he immediately called the Toronto player. Lillard said, “Everything was up in there. I was on the phone and I got random text from O.G., like, welcome to Toronto.”

He added, “He [is] always messing around, joking and stuff like that because we train together in summer a little bit. And he texted me like, ‘Welome to Toronto!’ and so I was like ‘Let me call this dude and see.’ [When] I finally called him, he didn’t answer. Then he called me back and he was laughing.”
If reports are to be believed, the player wasn’t willing to play for Toronto, and his preferred destination was the Miami Heat, but Portland wasn’t keen on engaging in trade talks with Miami.
