In the ongoing Test match between West Indies and South Africa at St Lucia, the home team won the toss and opted to bat first. However, things did not go as per the plan for the Men in Maroon as they were bundled out for a mere 97. To make matters worse, one of their first-choice players, Nkrumah Bonner, has even been ruled out of the ongoing Test match after he was hit on the helmet while batting and has been diagnosed with a concussion.
As per the new concussion protocols, a like for like replacement was announced and consequently, Kieran Powell has been included in the team for the rest of the match.

The incident happened in the 12th over of the innings which was being bowled by Anrich Nortje in the middle of a ferocious spell. While he had already picked up a wicket, he was looking in a great rhythm and was executing his plans to perfection. In the 5th delivery of this over, Bonner completely missed a short ball and was hit on his helmet but the Proteas thought he had got some bat on it while trying to pull it which appeared more of a reflex than an attempt to play the stroke. Nkrumah looked shaken but had opted to continue batting. However, he was later diagnosed with a concussion.
Meanwhile, the duo of Nortje and Lungi Ngidi wreaked havoc on the West Indies batters. While Ngidi completed a five-wicket haul, Nortje picked four to bowl out West Indies for less than 100.
