The ad-hoc committee of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) announced the dates of the Senior National Wrestling Championships. The tournament will be organised from February 2-5, 2024 , in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The committee led by the WUSHU Association of India President Bhupinder Singh Bajwa, said in a press conference that the tournament will include the top Indian wrestlers participating in different categories.  These categories are freestyle, Greco-Roman, and the women’s category. 

As per the statement by the temporary panel, the Railway Sports Promotion Board (RSPB) at the Railway Stadium in Ganpati Nagar of Pink City will organise and manage the competition. Not only this, but the ad-hoc panel also said that none of the stakeholders will be in touch with any of the members of the suspended WFI. 

For the unversed, a three-member ad-hoc committee was formed by the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) to manage the functioning of the WFI, after it was suspended by the Sports Ministry of India for violating its constitution. The panel is being led by the WUSHU Association of India President Bhupendra Singh Bajwa and two more members in the names of MM Somaya, a 1980 Olympic gold medallist hockey player, and Manjusha Kanwar, a 1998 Commonwealth Games badminton medallist.

After Sanjay Singh was elected as the president of the national wrestling body on December 24, he declared that the nationals for the Under-15 and Under-20 age groups would be held in the Gonda district of Uttar Pradesh. Gonda region is a stronghold of BJP MP Brij Bhushan.
