It was yet another eventful day for cricket fans around the world. With T20 season underway in several parts of the country, the biggest disappointment came for the Indian fans as the Hardik Pandya-led Men in Blue lost their second consecutive T20I against West Indies.

 

After opting to bat first, the Men in Blue posted 152/7 in their 20 overs, courtesy maiden half-century from last match debutant Tilak Varma. However, their bowlers could not make much of the chances as the hosts won the match by two wickets, eventually taking a 2-0 lead in the five-match T20I series.

Rohit Sharma drop ped  major hint of playing in T20I World Cup 2024
India skipper  Rohit Sharma  dropped hints on his availability in the T20I World Cup 2024.   The 36-year-old cricketer said that he is looking forward to playing the 2024 World Cup and hinted at his availability for the marquee event.   Sharma said, “More than just going and enjoying, there is another reason to come here because the World Cup is coming. In June, there will be the World Cup happening in this part of the world. I’m sure everyone is excited. So yeah, we look forward to that.” 

 

Sarfaraz Khan gets married to Kashmiri girl in Shopian
The star cricketer from Mumbai, Sarfaraz Khan, got  married to a Kashmiri girl at the Pashpora village in the district of Shopian, Jammu & Kashmir. The 25-year-old, who plies his trade in the Indian Premier League with Delhi Capitals,  was spotted wearing a black sherwani, a traditional attire for a wedding, to partake in the religious rituals of “Nikah” in the presence of the “Imam.”

 

Deepak Chahar challenges Shivam Dube for one over match to settle latter's CSK’s all-time XI
CSK youngster Shivam Dube named his All-Time CSK XI.  What was notable in his XI was that he picked himself over Deepak Chahar in the XI and the conversation between the two then built on thereafter. To settle the conversation, Indian star bowler Deepak Chahar got into the picture, starting a banter which resulted in Chahar challenging the youngster for a one-over match next year.

 

Abbas Afridi takes first hattrick of Global T20 Canada
Abbas Afridi became the first player to complete a hattrick in the ongoing Global T20 Canada. His hattrick came in the all-important, do-or-die Qualifier 2 between Vancouver Knights and Montreal Tigers on August 6. This hattrick came in the 13 th  over of the Vancouver inning  as he dismissed Corbin Bosch , Rassie van der Dussen and Najibullah on consecutive deliveries.
