The FIFA World Cup 2022 is underway and has reached its quarterfinals stage as fans all over the world are enjoying the football action in Qatar. However, UFC president Dana White has termed football the "least talented sport on earth" and fans are not having any of it and lashed out at the 53-year-old American.

During a podcast, Dana White heaped praises on hockey and concurrently ridiculed football, which they call soccer in the USA.

Dana White said, "I'm not a hockey fan, but I respect so much how talented you have to be to play hockey. Soccer? Whole other ball game. Can’t stand soccer, I think that it’s the least talented sport on earth. There’s a reason three year olds can play soccer ok? You run around and kick a ball."

White believed scoring goals is undemanding in football considering the large size of the goal post. He said, "When you’re playing a game where the net is this big right, and the score is 3-1, are you s**ting me right now? Do you know how untalented you have to be to score three points when the net is this big."

Meanwhile, the USMNT were knocked out by Netherlands in the Round of 16 of the FIFA World Cup 2022. In the quadrennial showpiece, the USA football team scored a total of three goals in four matches and Dana White's claims might not go well with the USMNT.

Fans roar back at Dana White

Following the UFC boss' comments on football, many fans lashed out at Dana White on Twitter as one person wrote, "What an idiot. Has no idea what athletic ability it takes to play competitive soccer. Just look at the speed and endurance alone. Dribbling a soccer ball at full speed is not just kicking a ball and running after it. The coordination, timing and reflexes have to be very high."

A second fan commented, "Three year olds can run around, throw punches and kicks as well." A third person wrote, "And unlike Dana White, football clubs pay their stars what they're worth."
