On her golden victory in the Asiad, Kaur's mother said that she is extremely proud of her daughter's achievement.
Her mother, Ramneek Kaur said, “This is a proud moment for me that my daughter has won gold in the Asian Games. The best moment was when we saw her standing on the podium and the national anthem was played. Yesterday, she was talking about some problem with her shoulder but her determination and focus got her the medal with a world record score."
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu ensures cash prize to wushu players denied visa for Asian Games 2023
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu met the three Wushu players from the state who were denied visas for the Asian Games 2023 and ensured them cash rewards. The state CM said that even though they didn't get to participate in the tournament, they would be treated as members of the Indian wushu team and given INR 20 lakh each as per the state's sports policy.
Khandu told the players, “As true sportspersons you are not supposed to get disheartened but prepare harder for the next tournament. You might have lost this chance to show your talent but for us you already are heroes and medal winners."
Vishnu Saravanan wins India's first-ever medal in dinghy ILCA-7 event
India's Vishnu Saravanan became the first sailor from the country to win a medal in the dinghy ILCA-7 event at the Asian Games 2023. Sarvanan finished at a net score of 34 points and won bronze for India after he fell short of just one point from clinching the silver.
South Korea's Jeemin HA won the white metal with 33 points, whereas Singapore's Jun Han Ryan Lo won the gold with a score of 26.
Nikhat Zareen storms into Asian Games 2023 quarterfinals
Indian boxing sensation Nikhat Zareen sailed into the quarterfinals of the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, China. The two-time world champion sealed the victory by unanimous decision (5-0) against the Republic of Korea’s Chorong Bak in the round of 16.
Zareen was coming on the back of a win over the reigning world championship silver medalist Nguyen Thi Tam in the Round of 32. In the quarterfinals, she will lock horns with Jordan’s Nassar Hanan on September 29, Friday.

FC Barcelona has reportedly been charged with bribery for their payments to the former Vice President of the Referees Technical Committee (CTA) Jose Maria Enriquez Negreira. According to EI Debate, the charges fall not only on the football club and Negreira but also on former Barcelona Presidents Josep Maria Bartomeu and Sandro Rosell, as well as Javier Enriquez Romero.

The Honourable Supreme Court of India refused to hear the plea of the Gymnastics Federation of India and asked it to approach the Delhi High Court.
On August 16, 2022, the high court issued directions, for the Centre as well, to not grant recognition to any sports body that doesn't comply with sports codes. On the Supreme Court's order, the gymnastic body said that the court didn't hear the body and passed the order just a day before the governing body's elections.
