McLaren launches special Ayrton Senna-inspired livery for 2024 Monaco Grand Prix
McLaren launched a special livery for the 2024 Monaco Grand Prix on May 21, Tuesday. The team in collaboration with OKX and Senna Brand, announced their bespoke one-off Ayrton Senna-inspired livery for Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. The special customised vehicles have taken inspiration from Senna’s iconic helmet and are designed to celebrate the Brazilian’s legacy. Senna, the three-time world champion is McLaren’s most successful driver. He raced for the British operation between 1988 and 1993, when he secured 35 Grand Prix wins, three drivers’ titles and four constructors’ championships.

Court frames charges against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh in women wrestlers’ sexual harassment case
The Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi finally framed charges of sexual harassment, intimidation and outraging the modesty of women against former WFI President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Several female wrestlers had registered a case against him for sexually harassing them. Later, Singh pleaded not guilty in the case as he appeared before Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Priyanka Rajpoot and claimed trial. Apart from Brij Bhushan, the Court also charged co-accused Vinod Tomar with the offence of criminal intimidation for the offence against Victim No. 1. Tomar is the former Assistant Secretary of the WFI.

Sumit Nagal secures Wimbledon men's singles main draw debut
Indian tennis superstar Sumit Nagal was included in the list of men's singles competitors for the prestigious Wimbledon later this year. Nagal will be the first Indian to play at the Championships in five years. Before 26-year-old from Jhajjar, Chennai native Prajnesh Gunneswaran was the last Indian to play in this Grand Slam in 2019. In his professional career, Nagal has played at Wimbledon once before. In 2018, the 26-year-old was in the qualifying rounds and suffered a straight-sets defeat to Poland’s Kamil Majchrzak. But as a junior player, Nagal won the Wimbledon Boys’ Doubles title in 2015 with his Vietnamese partner Nam Hoang Ly.

On Tuesday, May 21, Aryna Sabalenka, the world number two, took to her Instagram stories to post a video of herself dancing with her team at the Roland Garros. The reigning two-time Australian Open champion will be kick-starting her campaign at the French Open from May 26 onwards, aiming to win her first major on clay this summer. The build-up to the French Open has been quite good for Aryna Sabalenka, who reached the final of the Italian Open last weekend. She lost the big match in straight sets to her arch-nemesis and the world number one from Poland, Iga Swiatek, in straight sets 6-2, 6-3.

Junior Indian hockey team begins Europe tour with win over Belgium
The Indian junior hockey team kicked off their Europe Tour with a win over Belgium in the first match of the tour. The Indian team defeated Belgium 2-2 (4-2 SO) in Antwerp, Belgium. The game saw vice-captain Shardanand Tiwari score two goals for the side in the third and the 27th minute for the Indian side. The team will be up against Belgium in Breda, Netherlands on May 22.

Al Nassr’s home and away kit with Adidas for 2024-25 season leaked online
Al-Nassr’s home and away kit for the 2024-25 season with Adidas have been leaked online. For the forthcoming season, the Knights of the Najd has decided to switch from Nike to Adidas, after having signed a three-year deal with the German company earlier this year. While the kit’s colour is similar to that worn in the 2023-24 season, their classic blue strips have been removed. Apart from the home kit, pictures of Al-Nassr’s potential away kit also started doing rounds on the internet. While no player was seen wearing the jersey, pictures showed dark blue jerseys with the Adidas logo with the team’s name and crest in golden colour.
Ederson to leave Man City in next transfer window: Reports
Ederson is reportedly considering an exit from Manchester City in the forthcoming summer transfer window. According to prominent football journalist Fabrizio Romano, Ederson is willing to leave the club in the forthcoming transfer window. The reports also suggested that several Saudi Pro League clubs have shown interest in him. The 30-year-old hasn’t ruled out any destination and is currently considering all the possibilities.
CONMEBOL announces concussion replacements less than a month ahead of COPA America
The South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) announced major changes to the rules less than a month ahead of the Copa America 2024. As per the new announcement, the coaches of the teams would be able to make a sixth and extra substitution during the game in case of head trauma and concussion. Ahead of the tournament, the football governing body announced the decision which would be valid for all its tournaments once Copa America starts. CONMEBOL issued a statement according to which the coaches will be required to notify the referee or the 4th match official about the concussion replacement through a pink substitution pass.
