Mainz to terminate Anwar El Ghazi’s contract over social post on Israel-Gaza conflict
German club Mainz is set to terminate the contract of Former Aston Villa forward Anwar El Ghazi for his social media post regarding the Israel-Gaza conflict. El Ghazi received a suspension on 17 October by the Bundesliga club, who deemed the now-deleted post "unacceptable". But in a meeting on Thursday, the club wanted the 28-year-old to apologise for his post but the forward decided to not issue an apology, citing humanitarian reasons behind his post.

Asian Paralympic Committee president declares Hangzhou Asian Para Games closed
The President of the Asian Paralympic Committee Majid Rashed declared the Asian Para Games 2023 closed on October 28, Saturday. In the closing ceremony, Rashed said, "I said that I thought this would be the biggest and best Asian Para Games ever. But it has surpassed my expectations. Everything that has been done with such dedication, such care and such diligence. These truly have been two Games of equal splendour."
A total of 468 athletes won at least one medal in the continental event and set 21 new world records, 72 new Asian records and 283 Games records. India finished the campaign in fifth spot with 111 medals.
Sheetal Devi wins Asian Para Games women’s Archery compound open gold
India's Sheetal Devi kicked off the country's Archery campaign in the Asian Para Games 2023 by winning gold in women's open gold. Devi, a 16-year-old archer from Jammu and Kashmir beat Singapore’s Alim Nur Syahidah in the women’s compound open event. She shot six consecutive ten rings in the last two rounds at the final of Women's Ind. Compound and won her first individual gold medal at the Asian Games.
