India pacer Yash Dayal has faced the heat of the moment after he shared a transition video of him and Zaheer Khan dismissing former India cricketer and captain MS Dhoni in a similar fashion. It is to be noted the Indian youngster is currently in Australia after being named in the India squad for highly-anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy series, down under.

Moreover, this story by Yash Dayal was shared days after he was retained by his Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for INR 5 Crore. Furthermore, Dayal finished as RCB’s leading wicket-taker in IPL 2024, with 15 scalps in 14 matches at an economy of 9.14.

Fans school Yash Dayal for drawing comparison with Zaheer Khan

Although, he might have finished as the leading wicket-taker for RCB in IPL 2024, his most prominent performance came against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) with the playoffs berth at stake. With MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja in the middle, RCB defended 17 runs with Dayal taking the prized wicket of the CSK wicketkeeper-batter.

Recalling that moment, Dayal shared a video of this, drawing comparison when Zaheer Khan took MS Dhoni’s wicket years ago in IPL. Seeing this, fans flooded social media, schooling the Indian youngster who has just begun his career in the national jersey. While some questioned his behaviour, a few others believed that MS Dhoni needs to answer back with the bat in the next edition.

Here’s how the fans reacted to Yash Dayal’s Instagram story:

Earlier while recalling MS Dhoni’s prized wicket from IPL 2024, Yash Dayal had stated that he felt bad about it. Speaking on Jatin Sapru’s YouTube channel, Dayal said, “I felt bad after dismissing him. Because I don’t know or care what people say but the frustration with which he left the ground, it was like you don’t know whether he will return or not. Will we ever see him again on the ground. It was a moment where a lot of things were going through my head. I got a breather, a bit of a relief.” It is to be noted that with the IPL General Council re-introducing the uncapped player rule, CSK retained MS Dhoni ahead of the auction for INR 4 Crore.
