In match number 63 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, the five-time champions, Mumbai Indians (MI) will host the Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday, May 21. However, the match proves to be pivotal for both the sides seeing them fight for the only slot for the IPL 2025 playoffs.
However, they will be vying to go all out to seal that one final place for the next stage of the tournament, the upcoming match is also loomed with rain threat. As per the forecast predicted by Accuweather, there remains 27 per cent probability of rain in the evening whereas it increases to 65 per cent in the night.
What will happen if MI vs DC gets washed out?
With probability of a wash out also on cards, the two teams will hope to end the next few matches in their favour. Taking a look at it closely, if the MI vs DC fixture gets washed out, then both teams will share a point each and MI will reach to 15 points whereas DC will trail with 14 points. Furthermore, DC, who are slated to face Punjab Kings in their last group stage on May 24, will hope to win also hoping that PBKS defeat MI on May 26.
On the other hand, MI will hope to win their match against PBKS, scheduled to be held on May 26 in order to seal their playoffs spot. And if DC end up losing to PBKS on may 24, MI will automatically qualify for the IPl 2025 playoffs.
