World number one ranked tennis player, Italy’s Jannik Sinner was handed three-month ban from tennis after two positive drug tests. The Italian top-ranked player accepted the immediate ban, following a settlement with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA after testing positive for Clostebol, a banned anabolic steroid.

The 23-year-old’s ban will run from February 9 till May 4, forcing him to miss several key tournaments. However, the Italian is set to return to professional tennis for Italian Open in Rome, scheduled to be held from May 7 to 18. Moreover, Sinner will also be available for the French Open 2025, which is set to be played on clay court from May 25 till June 8.

Which tournaments will Jannik Sinner miss after ban?

Seeing the ban already coming into effect after he thorough investigation in the positive tests done in March last year, Sinner will miss several key tournaments, including Indian Wells, Miami Open, Monte Carlo Masters and others. While this comes as a massive blow seeing him dominant at the top of the charts after consecutive Australian Open wins in January 2025.

Although, Sinner will be available for the next Grand Slam, he will sit out from the Indian Wells and Miami - two prestigious Masters 1000 tournaments, which might impact his World No. 1 rankings. However, he will prepare to come out good at home in Rome before the Roland Garros in May-June this year.
