As the F1 fraternity gathered at Spielberg for the Austrian GP race weekend, they were subject to questions by the reporters about what was to come in the next three days of track action. During one of the interviews around the paddock area, when Lando Norris, the Belgian-British racing driver heard one of the reporters making a disrespectful comment towards him and their own female counterpart, he shut him down with a swift reply of his own.
The incident occurred when Mari Becker, a reporter from Brazil, was praised by the McLaren driver for her choice of question, to which the other reporter called him a liar to the chagrin of both individuals.
In the video shared on Twitter by Esporte Na Band, the Brazilian female reporter asked the 23-year-old driver about McLaren upgrades being a game changer. To which he responded, “Yeah, good question, you ask the best question here. Well done.”

It led to the other reporter making a comment, which read, “You are a hell of a liar.” Lando Norris was shocked at first, but he quickly gathered his thoughts to defend himself by saying, “I am not.” Seconds later, he hit back at him by delivering a great response, “Who are you?”
Meanwhile, McLaren needs its updates to deliver results as early as possible, because they are currently in sixth position in the constructors championship with just 17 points over the course of the first eight races of the 2023 F1 season. The eight times constructor champion in the sport hasn't had the best of times on and off the track this year after failing to hit their development targets with their current car.
