Indian women weightlifter Harjinder Kaur won the bronze in the Women's 71kg category at the Commonwealth Games 2022 and extended India's medal tally to 9. After being almost out of contention, Kaur made a remarkable entry to the podium as her Nigerian rival failed in all her three attempts in the 'Clean and Jerk' category.

Post lifting 93kg in the 'Snatch' category and 119kg in the C&J category with a total of 212kg, Kaur looked set to finish fourth in the event but Nigeria's Joy Eze failed with all three of her C&J attempts, hence, Kaur got the bronze medal.
