Indian judoka Suchika Tariyal is a three-time international gold medallist and five-time national champion, and currently serving as a CISF Head Constable. Suchika was expected to win gold for India in Judo at the Commonwealth Games 2022 but lost to Canada's Christa Deguchi by Ippon in quarterfinal in women's 57 kg category.
However, the 31-year-old Suchika Tariyal has won the women's 57 kg Repechage round against Donny Breytenbach of South Africa in the ongoing CWG 2022 to play for the bronze medal.
