Athletes from all over the world have starred in their respective fields. From India, it has been track and field athlete Neeraj Chopra who has been having a time of his life. After his brilliant run at the Tokyo Olympics, the javelin thrower has been under a lot of limelight not only in the country but worldwide .

 

A proof of this was visible in the latest numbers which came from a media analysis from a firm named Unicepta. The World Athletics also cited the numbers from this survey done by the media firm. In a recent accomplishment , the Indian athlete has surpassed sprinter Usain Bolt to become the most written about athlete in 2022.

 

The 24-year-old is the front-runner in popularity charts with around 812 articles written around him. He topped the charts with the Jamaican troika of women sprinters with 751 articles. The ace sprinter Usain Bolt stood fifth, behind Neeraj (812), Jamaican sprinter (751), Shelley-Ann Fraser-Pryce (698) and Shericka Jackson (679) with 574 articles.

 

The 24-year-old ended the year 2022 with several accolades  to his name. He finished as runners-up at the World Championships in Eugene (Oregon) and became only the second Indian to earn a medal at this level. He also became first Indian athlete to win the Diamond League final in javelin with a throw of 88.44m earlier this year. He gained prominence  after winning a historic gold at the Tokyo Olympics 2021.
