The UFC 282 main fight has been rescheduled with Jiri Prochazka pulling out of the event. The UFC 282 is scheduled to take place on December 10 in Las Vegas.

The Czech MMA, who was set to defend his light heavyweight title against Glover Teixeria, confirmed his withdrawal through an Instagram post on Wednesday (23 November). The 30-year-old has now vacated his belt saying that he has injured his shoulder while training in Teixeria bout.

Prochazka also said that he will undergo a surgery and will be out of action for at least six months. “ I am very disappointed to announce that I will not be defending my belt at   @ufc  282. I was injured in training in Las Vegas while finishing my preparation for my title defense in the UFC's lightheavyweight division. I injured my shoulder and surgery is required which will put me out of action for at least 6 months.”

“Knowing this information, I have decided, after consulting with UFC management, that due to this time constraint, I will not hold lightheavyweight division and will vacate the title. I will go for the UFC belt as soon as the doctors give me the green light to fight. I'm going to go for the belt and I'm going to get it no matter who currently holds it”, he further wrote.

He apologized  to the fans, friends and family who had bought the tickets. He also apologized to his opponent Glover for declining the fight following the injury. Jan Blachowicz and Magomed Ankalaev have been named for the main fight as they will compete for the vacant light-heavyweight title in Las Vegas, Nevada.
