On Sunday, March 2, India is taking on New Zealand in their final group A match of the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai. The two sides had already confirmed their semi-finals qualification after the Black Caps defeated Bangladesh by five wickets in Rawalpindi on February 25.

However, the match is simply a dead rubber, but the teams will fight it out in an intense battle to finish at the top of the table, who will eventually take on the second placed Group B team, that is Australia. As the two skippers took the field, it was the Kiwi captain Mitchell Santner who won the toss and elected to field first.

Although, Santner’s decision came seeing the wicket available for the match against India, he also confirmed a change in their playing XI. “We'll have a bowl first, looks like a good wicket. Want to put some pressure early and hopefully it skids on well later. We still want to win, we know we are going to be in Lahore later but our job here is do a job here,” Santner began after winning the toss. He also added, “Daryl Mitchell comes in, Conway misses this one.”
