In the super Sunday double-header in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, the Punjab Kings (PBKS) are hosting the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Chandigarh in match number 37. While these two sides met recently on Friday and are once again facing off as the tournment gets into the reverse fixtures scenario.
As the two skippers walked out for the toss, it was RCB captain, Rajat Patidar, who won the toss and decided to field first. “We're going to bowl first. Wicket looks decent, won't change much. Batting second will give more clarity about the game and the wicket. We're not looking at venues, just trying to play good cricket,” Patidar said at the toss.
RCB call in Romario Shepherd in place of Liam Livingstone for PBKS vs RCB
When asked about his team combination for the return fixture, Patidar confirmed a change. “Shepherd comes in for Livi,” the middle-order batter said. However, the reason of this switch is not known, it is speculated to come seeing the form of the England international, who has struggled to get runs with his bat and has amassed only 87 runs in six innings at an average of 17.40 and strike rate of 127.94.
On the other hand, PBKS went with their same XI, similar to the one that they fielded previously in the clash against RCB in Bengaluru.
