In match number 41 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are hosting the five-time title winners, Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Wednesday, April 23. However, both teams are coming into this match on the back of contrasting results, MI are on a winning streak as they are coming with hat-trick of wins.

As the two skippers walked out for the toss, it was Hardik Pandya, the MI skipper, who decided to field first. Thus inviting the hosts to put the score on board first, Pandya said, “We'll bowl first tonight. Looks like a good track.” He also called for a change in their XI which saw Vignesh Puthur come in place of Ashwani Kumar.

Mohammed Shami misses out from SRH’s XI vs MI; Jaydev Unadkat comes in

On the other hand, SRH skipper, Pat Cummins also called in for a change in their playing XI as he confirmed that star Indian pacer Mohammed Shami goes out, making way for Jaydev Unadkat. “One change for us - Jaydev comes in, Shami goes out to the impact player list.”

It is to be noted that the two teams are just playing the match as a usual cricketing match, mourning the horror terrorist attack in Pahalgam. As a tribute, the players, umpires and other officials present at the venue are donning black armbands to condemn the attack. After winning the toss, Pandya said, “I would like to firstly pass my condolences to the victims of the terrorist attack. We as a team and a franchise condemn any such attacks.” Pat Cummins also expressed his condolences, stating, “It has been heartbreaking for us as well, our thoughts are with the victims and their families.”
