On Friday, April 25, the five-time champions, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are taking on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai in match number 43 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. While both the teams are coming into this fixture on the back of defeats in their respective matches, they will be hoping to get a win under their belt in order to stay alive in the competition.
As the two skippers walked out for toss, it was the SRH captain, Pat Cummins, who won the toss and decided to bowl first. His decision came in a do-or-die fixture, which might see the either of them end their campaign tonight with a defeat. Speaking after winning the toss, Cummins said, “We gonna have a bowl first. Chennai is always a big game, coming off a couple of loses but it is a new venue and boys are up for it. If the wicket is good, backing them to get a big total and otherwise also, backing them to do well. The pitch looks a little bit dry.”

The CSK skipper, MS Dhoni when asked of his choice if he had won the toss, added, “Dew was the main reason why we also wanted to bowl first. Almost in all the departments when you are not playing good cricket, chances are there will be pressure on the other guys as well. We want to get the process right and that is what we are looking to aim for the rest of the games.”
When enquired of the changes, MS Dhoni confirmed two major changes, along with a couple others. While Rachin Ravindra was dropped from XI with Dewald Brevis making his CSK debut, Deek Hooda has found his place again, replacing Vijay Shankar. In another notable change, Jamie Overton went back into the impact player list with Sam Curran finding his way back in the XI.
