India vs England, the first ODI, is set to kick off in the Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) Stadium, Nagpur. India is playing its first ODI match after 444 days, and a piece of very shocking news comes out for fans as Virat Kohli is not playing the match in Nagpur due to right knee issues.

After the ICC Cricket World Cup 2203 Final, ODI cricket is returning to India. The first ODI of India vs England is crucial as India has only three ODIs ahead of the highly anticipated ICC Champions Trophy 2025, and Virat Kohli will miss the first match.

Yashasvi Jaiswal is replacing the injured Virat Kohli in the first ODI, with Harshit Rana also making his ODI debut for India. Captain Rohit Sharma gives ODI cap to Jaiswal while Shami presents it to Rana.

This is a big issue for India as Virat Kohli is a prominent batter and is needed in the middle order. He has performed exceptionally well in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 scoring 765 runs. India is hoping for the speedy recovery of the batter especially the Champions Trophy is starting from 19 February.

England captain Jos Buttler won the toss in Nagpur and decided to bat first. Check out the playing XIs of both teams:
