Preview

India made a comeback in the third T20I after getting outfoxed in the second T20I and have again gained a lead of 2-1 in the five-match series. As the game moves to Florida, both teams will look to seal the series. While India only need one win to claim the series, the Windies will need two wins in a row. And it won’t be an easy task considering how the white-ball series has panned out for the hosts. The Nicholas Pooran-led team needs to find a solution to their batting woes and someone to step up consistently.

Pitch Report

The Central Broward Regional Park’s pitch is a paradise for the batters. With even bounce, fast outfield, and smaller boundaries, the games here are high-scoring. Meanwhile, for spinners, there is help in the middle overs.

Team Analysis

India

Rohit Sharma’s injury in the third game sent signs of worry for the Indian team but the captain seems to have recovered well as he was spotted training ahead of the fourth T20I. Suryakumar Yadav has continued his brilliant form as he scored a match-winning 76 (44) in the third T20I. The other batters have also chipped in when required and hence India have managed to gain a 2-1 lead so far. Now, with a change in venue, captain Rohit Sharma will expect his players to adapt to the conditions and seal the series. The bowlers are also expected to continue the same dominance when the last two T20Is take place in the USA.

West Indies

The Nicholas Pooran-led side is failing to address the concerns which are resulting in losses for the hosts. While the West Indies bowlers did a great job in the second T20I to restrict India to a below-par total, they could not stop them from chasing a 160+ target in the third game. Ordinary batting performances have also not helped West Indies’ cause of beating India. Barren Kyle Mayers, no Windies batter played an impactful knock in the 3rd game which resulted in West Indies failing to put a big total. Then, in bowling, West Indies continued to leak runs. If West Indies are to win against India, they need consistent good performances.

Match Prediction

Conclusion

India have a clear edge over West Indies. The Rohit Sharma-led team has the desired momentum as well as enough resources to beat the Windies on any given day. Thus, they remain the favorite to win the 5th T20I.
