During the Kerala Premier League (KPL) match between KPA 123 and KCSA Calicut, one of the strangest catches ever in the history of cricket went down. The wicket-keeper of KPA 123 made the dive away to his right to complete the catch with his gloves, but instead, the tennis ball somehow ended up landing on his back while he was flat on the ground on his stomach, which led to his teammates and commentator going gaga on the broadcast.

The viral moment happened when the left-arm fast bowler of KPA 123 delivered a beautiful outswinger to the right-handed batter of KSCA Calicut, finding a thick outside edge of the bat. The wicket-keeper showcased his quick reflexes to reach the tennis ball, although it blobbed away from his gloves.

As he found himself stomach first on the ground, the tennis ball found its way on the back of his body. And just as the fielder closeby ran to grab hold of the tennis ball to ensure that it didn’t land on the ground, the wicket-keeper created a bend on his body while locking his arms to the side to complete the catch successfully.
The innings of KCSA Calicut came to a close with just 32 runs after seven overs. It led to KPA 123 chasing down the low target in just 4.4 overs to register a six wicket victory in the Kerala Premier League.
