In some of the ODI matches we can see a batter from the first innings smashing a big century and still the second innings of the game getting washed out without a ball being bowled unfortunately due to heavy rains and the big question from cricket fans is whether the runs scored in this kind of game counts (or) not.

A match is counted on official record books as soon as the toss is completed, hence when the game gets counted on official record books the runs scored, and wickets taken will all be counted into players' career stats. Thus, the century scored by a batter is counted even if the game ends without a result in record books.

A match is considered as abandoned without a result even if a toss doesn't take place in the game and unfortunately those games aren't counted in record books of cricket.
