The KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will take on five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) in match 48 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Both teams will enter this fixture on the back of losses in their respective matches. While the MI lost to Delhi Capitals by 10 runs, the LSG lost to table toppers Rajasthan Royals (RR).
But as the KL Rahul-led side look forward to their next fixture at their home ground at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium on Tuesday, they will aim to come out good with the return of Mayank Yadav. LSG bowling coach, Morne Morkel on Monday, April 20 confirmed that Mayank has passed all fitness tests ahead of their clash against MI.
The uncapped Indian broke out at the IPL with his express pace against Punjab Kings. He clocked 156.7 kilometers per hour against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), the fastest of the season, putting his name in contention for the T20 World Cup 2024. However, he had to miss a couple of matches due to an injury.
The 21-year-old suffered abdominal strain during Lucknow’s match against Gujarat Titans on April 7. He missed five games on the trot for LSG and thereafter resumed his bowling in nets last week.
