European football is back this week with the quarter-finals of the Champions League and Europa League to be played soon. And one of the most fiery battles coming up is between Real Madrid and Arsenal. The two heavyweights are set to clash at the Emirates Stadium tonight with a lot at stake for both the teams. One particular matter of discussion in recent days has been the squad of Real Madrid, who have been troubled with quite some injuries during the course of this season. And a recent victim to this was Thibaut Courtois.

Courtois was out for almost three weeks and missed four games for club and country. However, in a recent update shared by Los Blancos, the Belgian keeper could be seen training with the team before the upcoming UCL clash. In fact, he was even named in the squad list for the Champions League fixture. However, the big question that remains is that whether Courtois is fit enough to start for the Madrid outfit against the Gunners.

I feel good...: Courtois speaks out before big clash against Arsenal in UCL

Courtois seems to have answered these questions in the recent pre-match interview where he spoke about his return from injury. He mentioned that his recent injury was not a serious one but the team management did not want to take any risk. “I feel good, at 100%...This wasn’t serious but we didn’t want to risk,” he said. With this said, it is well understood that the star goalie will be available between the sticks for Madrid tonight.

Talking about his upcoming opponents, Courtois praised the quality that the Gunners possess and says that they will be a difficult team to come up against. He said, “We have a lot of respect for Arsenal… They’re a young team with some experienced players of a good mix. They defend well, they can press high, they can defend in a low-block, they’re quick on the counter-attack and they have players who can score easily from set-pieces. So we know it’s a team that’s hard to break down.”
