Sasha Banks aka Mercedes Mone, one of the most famed professional wrestlers in the world, is reportedly not scheduled to return at the WWE Royal Rumble in St. Petersburg on Saturday, January 27. She was spotted in Boston a day prior to the Royal Rumble, making it highly unlikely for her to show up at the WWE’s upcoming PLE.

As per Mike Johnson of PWInsider, there have been zero discussion about Mercedes Mone in WWE circles in recent times, while some people in the promotion believe that she is bound to end up in AEW. Meanwhile, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reports that WWE source stated that there are doubts around her appearing at the Royal Rumble because the promotion is “not really interested in contract tampering with her.”

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter spoke about how AEW is confident about Mercedes Mone starting with them soon. Meltzer also remarked “Mone was doing acting work but there is talk her debut will be played up extremely big and that announcement could be soon. She has been back training to return to the ring.”

According to the report, Mercedes Mone had negotiations with WWE, but money wasn’t working out for both the parties for her to show up in the promotion. At the same time, Dave Meltzer stated that unless she had officially signed a contract, nothing was going to be a lock.

With multiple reports indicating no contract being signed between Sasha Banks aka Mercedes Mone and the WWE, it will be a massive surprise if she does end up making an appearance at the Royal Rumble PLE tonight.
