Former Indian cricket team head coach Ravi Shastri has been an avid follower of the game of Tennis. For the last few years, the 60-year-old has been one of the attendees of one of the four Grand Slams, the Wimbledon Championships in London. Last year, after the completion of the World Test Championship (WTC) Final, Shastri was witnessed watching one of the fixtures of Roger Federer.

On July 8 (Friday), the Mumbai-born cricketer shared snapshots of himself on Twitter marking his presence at the Centre Court to watch the semi-final match of the Wimbledon 2022 between Novak Djokovic and Cameron Noorie. Shastri was pleased to return to the Court in a crucial fixture of the ongoing tournament.

“Great to be back in Centre court on a scorching afternoon for what should be a humdinger. Joko vs Home boy. Djokovic vs Norrie,” his caption read.

Novak Djokovic to face Nick Kyrgios in Finals of Wimbledon 2022

The world number three, Djokovic emerged victorious 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4 in the semi-final game against ninth-seeded Norrie. Although Norrie stunned the Tennis fraternity and crowd on the court by winning the first set comprehensively, the 20-time Grand Slam winner made a fighting comeback to win the subsequent sets. With the culmination of this fixture, Djokovic will be facing Australian Nick Kyrgios, who has reached the final of any Grand Slam for the first time.

Kyrgios received a walk-over in the semis after Nadal withdrew from the tournament due to an abdominal tear. Interestingly, Kyrgios and Djokovic have faced each other twice in 2017, and the former held an edge by winning both matches. It will be interesting to see if Kyrgios can maintain dominance over the Serbian international and win his first Grand Slam.
