Wisdom Gaming has announced the launch of the Collegiate Rocket League Series which will be a collegiate-level esports tournament. The competition will include 14 collegiate esports teams from across the US who will play Rocket League across the two-day tournament for a prize money of $25,000 (~£22,000) in scholarship prizing.
The Wisdom Collegiate Contender Series will be broadcast remotely between 8-9 October. Fans also have the chance to watch the event for free at Wisdom Gaming Studios in Minnesota, where Wisdom Gaming is based. But the organisers will also sale tickets for an ‘up close experience’ with cast of the series at the Wisdom Gaming Studios sound stage, which will be available for purchase.

The tournament will have casters prominent Rocket League talents like Adam ‘Lawler’ Thornton, Isaac ‘Turtle’ App and Thom ‘F.’ Badinger, who will cast on-site for the weekend. The tournament will be hosted by the Mall of America in Minnesota.
The Senior Vice-President at Wisdom Gaming, Jaycie Gluck talked about the tournament and addressed how the success of the Minnesota Varsity League at the high school level has given them an opportunity to host this Collegiate tournament.
“Championing esports on a scholastic level is ingrained within Wisdom’s DNA. We’ve done this with the Minnesota Varsity League at the high school level, and are thrilled to be expanding our efforts to the collegiate circuit. Collegiate esports continues to gain popularity across the country, and the opportunity to foster this growth amongst this community continues to be an area in which we are dedicated”, Gluck said.
