A viral post-match video from India and Hong Kong Asia Cup 2022 match has surfaced on social media, where former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir has targeted Indian team management over sensational batter Suryakumar Yadav's batting position in the squad.
Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli has made a comeback in the Asia Cup 2022 by scoring joint-most runs (35) against Pakistan in Team India's tournament opener and then scored a half-century against Hong Kong to help India reach Super Fours.
However, the 2011 World Cup winner Gautam Gambhir has recently taken a needless dig at Team India management by saying Suryakumar has 'no choice' besides batting at number four despite his superior current form.
While talking to sports anchor Jatin Sapru, Gambhir, who brought Surya at Kolkata Knight Riders, praised SKY for his incredible batting performance against Hong Kong as the 31-year-old Indian batter joined the conversation. Gambhir told Jatin, " Maine toh bol diya hai, isko bata do (Tell him what I just said). That you should be batting at No 3."
Jatin replied, "Usne bola he should be very flexible with the batting position." Gambhir quickly countered, "woh uski majboori hai (He has no choice)."
