The defending champions of the Indian Premier League (IPL) - Mumbai Indians finally got a win under their belt when they defeated Punjab Kings on Tuesday by 6 wickets. All-rounder Hardik Pandya's unbeaten 40 and Kieron Pollard's 15*, along with crucial contribution from Saurabh Tiwary helped the team cross the line.

Kieron Pollard throws light on T20 World Cup

The man who led a part of Mumbai’s bowling and fired a quick 15*, vice-captain Kieron Pollard received the Player of the Match. In his post match speech, Pollard said, “I just try to do my best whenever I get the opportunity.” To add to this he also stated, “I don’t have pace. I don’t have spin. I don’t have swing, but I have a little bit of brain!”

Notably, Pollard completed 300 T20 wickets after registering figures of 2/8 in the only over he bowled on Tuesday. Along with this, he also has 11202 runs and 15 trophies in T20s. Isn't it exceptional?

Amidst all of this he even threw light on the forthcoming T20 World Cup 2021, which is set to played in UAE & Oman later in October. When asked about his plans & preparations for the World Cup, Pollard instantly replied, “World Cup is irrelevant at this point of time.” West Indies will face England in their opening fixture on October 23 at the Dubai International Stadium.

Mumbai’s next game

With this win, Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians now sit at the fifth place in the points table with 10 points from 11 games. The side will next face Delhi Capitals in Saturday’s double header at the Sharjah Cricket Ground.
