Team India dealt with a major blow on Thursday as Jasprit Bumrah got ruled of the T20 World Cup due to a stress fracture. According to fresh reports, Indian speedster has suffered a back stress fracture and will need four to six weeks to recover.

A report published in PTI quoted senior BCCI official who informed that Bumrah has severe back injury, and he is 'not travelling to Australia. "He is not going to play the ICC tournament. He has serious back condition. Its stress fracture and he could be out for a period of six months," a senior BCCI official was quoted in PTI reported. Notably, Bumrah was also not part of the Indian camp during series opener against South Africa in Thiruvananthapuram.

Bumrah had earlier missed the entire Asia Cup 2022 due to back injury and spent around a month at National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. Although, he missed the first T20I against Australia, but was back in action during last two T20 internationals. He bowled only two overs in the second T20 internationals where he conceded 23 runs and picked only one wicket, followed by the leaking 50-runs in four overs in the third and final T20 internationals at Hyderabad. 

Indian cricket fans expressed their shock over the incident via social media posts as 'Jasprit Bumrah' started trending on Twitter.
