Australia have defeated India by a massive margin of 209 runs to win the WTC Final 2023 at The Oval in London. The moment happened when Nathan Lyon dismissed Mohammed Siraj for 1, to bundle out the Indians for 234 runs.
In the morning session of day 5, India have lost two big wickets of Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja in quick succession to get reduced to 179/5 in their second innings. They still need further 265 runs to win as Australia assert their dominance in the WTC Final.
At stumps on day 4, India are 164-3 with Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane at the crease, still needing further 280 runs to win the WTC Final at The Oval in London. Earlier in the day, Australia declared their second innings at 270/8 to set a world record run chase of 444 runs in the Ultimate Test.
India are 41/1 at the end of post-lunch session on day 4 while chasing the massive target of 444 set by Australia. At the stroke of tea, there was a controversial dismissal of Shubman Gill, who was given out caught by the third-umpire after adjudicating that Cameron Green had completed the catch cleanly.
During the post-lunch session on day 4 of the WTC Final 2023, Australia have declared their second innings at 270/8 to set India a world record run chase of 444 to become victorious in the Ultimate Test. The Indian batters have a daunting task at hand to win the ICC trophy for the first time in over 10 years.
