The latest Premium Live Event (PLE) on the WWE calendar is the first-ever two-night SummerSlam, which will happen at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. In the main event of SummerSlam Sunday, John Cena will be defending the WWE Championship against challenger Cody Rhodes in a WrestleMania rematch, aiming to take down the heel champion from his perch during the latter’s retirement tour.
The main event of SummerSlam Saturday will be Gunther defending the World Heavyweight Championship against CM Punk, with the latter looking to win his first major championship in WWE in more than 13 years. In the women’s division, Naomi will be defending her Women’s World Championship against Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley, while Becky Lynch will defend the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Lyra Valkyria.
It is a stacked card put together by WWE for SummerSlam 2025, which is expected to throw a few surprises apart from scheduled matches, just like every other PLE in the promotion in recent times.
