Yusuf Pathan in his days was simply one of the most feared strikers of the cricket ball. An IPL geek would easily remember the 37-ball hundred that he scored playing for the Rajasthan Royals which was a nightmare for the Mumbai Indians bowling unit in 2010. No boundary was long enough for the brute power that he generated with his bat swing.
However, there was a time in the Indian Premier League that the elder of the Pathan brothers just couldn't buy a run. And now Rajat Bhatia, his IPL teammate during that time, has revealed what he told Pathan during the batting all-rounder's lean phase with the bat.
Bhatia disclosed that he helped remind Pathan what he was truly capable of. He recalled telling Pathan: "You yourself don't know what you're capable of."
The ex-Kolkata Knight Riders star made the revelation during the mid-innings show of the SunRisers Hyderabad- Lucknow Super Giants IPL 2022 match on SportsTiger.
As far as the ongoing game is concerned, SunRisers Hyderabad won the toss and opted to bowl first. Post that, Lucknow managed to put on 169 runs on the board with the help of captain KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda's half-centuries.
In response, SunRisers Hyderabad lost early wickets but a valiant innings from Rahul Tripathi and a handy contribution from Nicholas Pooran so far has helped them stay in the game. However, they would need a proper finish from their middle order to cross the line.
